Extruder - Film Forming

The initial stage in flexible plastic packaging industry is the film forming process. Extrusion is a thermoplastic processing method where the granulated material is melted and extruded in a metal dye under pressure. In the extruder unit, a metal cylinder coated by powered electrical heaters rotates the screw in the bearing so that the mixture of granulated polyethylene material and auxiliary functional additives is melted under pressure and heat. Then, the mixture is cooled down, by means of inflating, from the melted state into the final film.   

Uniform film thickness is critical here. In this unit, essential physical properties are delivered to the final package by thermal, optical and mechanical means in desired size, colour and composition.
